MIAMI – Oct. 30, 2014 – Andres San Jorge, Esq., has joined the sales team of North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) as commercial state agency manager for the state of Florida. He has more than 10 years’ experience as an agent and counsel for a major national title insurance company, working as a real estate attorney for several firms in South Florida.
“Andy’s unique skillset will strengthen our service in the Florida commercial agency space,” said Geoffrey Ginn, senior vice president, NATIC independent agency division manager. “He is an up-and-coming title professional, with the broad experience to be a valuable resource for law firms writing the commercial deals in Florida’s vibrant market.”
South Florida’s commercial real estate in particular has exhibited increasing strength. Overall construction contracts in the three-county region rose 19 percent, from $5.06 billion in the first three quarters of 2013 to $6.02 billion in the same period for 2014. Much of that increase came from condominium and other multifamily projects. In addition to new construction, a recent report from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank cites Miami-Dade County’s office sector as having achieved its highest occupancy in five years – 85 percent. The area’s retail sector is also active, exemplified by the recent $341 million purchase by Starwood Capital Group of the Mall at Wellington Green, a 1.27-million-square-foot retail center in Wellington, southwest of West Palm Beach.
“I understand the challenges agents face on a day-to-day basis in their efforts to satisfy their clients and I am especially positioned to help our agents succeed,” said San Jorge. “I also have experience in handling claims and defalcation matters, so I can readily assist agents in identifying common pitfalls. Together, we will get the deal done and done right.”
San Jorge most recently worked for the firm of Becker & Poliakoff in Coral Gables. His practice has included the representation of buyers, sellers and lenders in the sale, acquisition and financing of both commercial and residential real property. San Jorge also has experience serving as corporate counsel to nonprofit corporations, including condominium, cooperative and homeowners’ associations. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Miami School of Law.
San Jorge is located at the NATIC Florida office at 700 N.W. 107th Ave., Suite 200, Miami, FL 33172, telephone number (866) 596-2842.
